Can church meet like a support group?
When Christians meet like a support group, they begin to see the risen Jesus working in and through one another and to experience the supernatural "unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace." When church becomes a Spirit-directed, recovery group, Christ-followers learn to listen to and obey Jesus as they minister to one another. Check out this interactive seating arrangement!
Here are the lyrics to a song I wrote with David Harper about how church can work as a support group. It's based on 1 Corinthians 14:26: "When We're Together."
When we're together
You're here with us,
We feel Your presence,
We see Jesus.
Your Spirit leads us
To share our heart,
One another,
Each does their part.
Chorus:
One starts a song;
One gives a testimony;
One says a prayer;
We're all God's symphony.
We are all one
In Christ the Son
Simple people
Tell what God's done.
Your Spirit teaches,
Not through just one,
But though us all,
Sharing the Son.
